Speaking as someone born in East London I can understand the doubts expressed in the film.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad that the allotment holders are just tossed aside by the organisers.
The local people will not benefit from the games....Ordinary people will not get to attend the top events, those will be reserved for the great and good namely, the fat cats and political classes.
When the circus moves on, then what?....Labour have not thought it through as per usual.
We have spent so much money on the project most of which we don't have and have little or no chance of getting back.
Labours attitude to the games appears to me to mirror one Adolf Hitler's view of the game.....A chance to show off however, Labour's bubble has burst and I suspect we will look silly.....I see Ms Jowell is already starting the PC angle by stating that women should be able to take part in as many events as men....By the time 'Elf'n'Safety has got their oar in, the games will be a farce.
I also hear that some people attached to the committee, are making a lot of money out of the work by awarding contracts to companies they own. Is there any truth in this?
